This I believe

I believe that we all have a basic desire to be known. Did you know that when a child cries he automatically searches for his mother's eyes to comfort him? When the mother responds to his pleading look with her own sympathetic gaze, their brain waves actually syncronize? That's amazing!

We all have this ache inside us to be truly known and understood. Think about it. A girl puts on cherry red and glossy lipstick. Why? In hopes that she might draw the target of her interest close enough in so that in the process she might be known for who she is on the inside. Internet dating is booming these days. Why? Because it gives us the chance to put our thoughts down in writing, without inturruption, in hopes that the receiver will hear what's in our hearts. Unfortunately, there's such a high risk of misinterpreting the words of someone with whom you can't lock eyes with and find that brain synchronization!

So, we turn to God. He knows our hearts
